The Void Adventure

Sitting here at work again on a Monday. I know the drill, I know that I have to be here. I know that I will keep thinking about how I don’t want to be here. I’ll wake up angry to go to work. I’ll be sluggish in my demeanor. I’ll try and waste time where I can. I know all of this because that’s what I’ve shown myself time and time again. It’s become a pattern of living. Well what if, for today, you change the pattern up? What if today you aren’t so worked up about everything that you have to do and just get on with it? What if you find the time to smile here and there today? Would that be the kickstart to a new pattern maybe? Who knows? The only way to find out is to try. Do something different and see how things play out for you.

It’s easy to fall into patterns so deep you forget you ever chose them. The irritation, the dragging feet, the quiet defiance—they’re comfortable now. They’ve become rituals of resistance, but they don’t serve you anymore. And maybe the strangest part of all is that you know this. You’re fully aware of how the day will unfold, yet you still walk into it the same way. What if, just once, you entered differently?

What if you didn’t armor up with resentment today? What if you dropped the weight of expectation and let the day unfold without all that inner noise? Smile—not because anything is funny, but because you can. Move with a little intention—not because it’s easier, but because it breaks the pattern. Small rebellions against the old self—that’s how change begins. Not dramatic. Just different.

You don’t have to force a revolution. All you need is a spark. One honest attempt to do the thing differently. That’s how you send a message to the version of you stuck in the old loops: I’m trying something else now. I don’t know where it’ll lead, but it can’t be worse than where I’ve already been. So let today be that test. And let tomorrow respond to how you moved today.
