The Void Adventure

I’m asking for a lot

The weight of it is evident

Before I used to just ask
I’d expect it to come

But expectations quickly shifted

Then I wouldn’t expect, I’d hope

Hope was what I handed ownership

Now the weight isn’t on me

It’s not about the work

I shouldn’t concern myself with consistency

I shouldn’t have to be patient

Now I sit here writing this out

The ownership is on me

Whatever I don’t do is on me

The things I want to do, on me

So when I hear how I want more

It feels like a gut-shot

I know all the work to come

Well, I just have to do it today.
