The Void Adventure

“You’re tired
That much is clear.
Still when the alarm went off today you got up.
Though you were in deep sleep and all of you wanted to stay there
It only took a few push ups to wake you up and remind you
Remind you of what you want out of this experience.
I hesitated just now,
I wanted to write down that I’m proud of you.
Then I went on to think about the rest of the week
How I still have more days like this that I have to get through.
It showed me that who we are is tied to what we do.
You have to do it daily.
You just keep on going now.
Keep going without getting caught up with what’s still to come.
I am proud of you.”

As I sit here, reflecting on this moment, I realize how difficult it is to acknowledge the small victories. There is a voice that says, “Why should you be proud? This is what you’re supposed to do.” It’s a persistent thought that tries to diminish the effort it takes to rise each morning and push through the fatigue. But that’s where the error lies.

Doing what is expected does not make the accomplishment any less worthy of recognition. Every pushup, every step taken in the face of exhaustion, is a testament to your resolve. It’s easy to overlook the significance of these moments because they blend into the routine. But the truth is, maintaining this discipline is extraordinary.

You are building a foundation of strength and resilience. Each day, regardless of how you feel, you choose to move forward. That decision, made over and over again, shapes who you are. It’s not just about the physical act; it’s about the mental fortitude required to keep going.

So, today, I will say it without hesitation. I am proud of you. Proud of the determination you show every morning. Proud of the way you push through the desire to give up. Proud of the consistency and the perseverance. These moments are what define you, and you deserve to acknowledge your efforts.
