Today I have to train again
For now I got half my pullups in
It’s been hurting all the way
My back isn’t fully healed yet
I have a torn muscle currently
What a pain this has become
Because of this injury the month changed
I missed a full 7 days of training
I have so much catch-up work
Got to catch up and stay ahead
It’s a tough ask, but I’m tougher
I won’t let myself fall
I won’t let all the struggle be in vain
This year will be seen through
Everything I said I’d do, I’ll do
If I can’t, I’m not who I say
I don’t even want to think that
That’s not my reality
I get to choose who I am.
Every rep today carries the weight of a battle scar—an injury that’s both a curse and a call to arms. You’re feeling the sting of each pull-up, the tear in your muscle a constant reminder of the physical price you pay for growth. But in that pain, there’s also a spark—a testament to your resilience. It’s not just about overcoming the injury; it’s about honoring the promise you made to yourself that you will never back down.
Missing a full week of training could have easily been a setback. Instead, it’s become the fuel that ignites your drive to catch up and surge ahead. The gap in your routine isn’t a mark of failure—it’s a challenge thrown down by life. And you’re the one who turns challenges into stepping stones. With every labored pull-up, you’re reasserting that you are tougher than any temporary setback. You’ll bridge that gap with sweat and determination, transforming every moment of pain into a lesson in strength.
This isn’t just a workout; it’s a declaration of identity. The void between what you’ve been and what you’re becoming is filled with your choices. You refuse to let the injury define you or your progress. Instead, you choose to see it as part of the story—a chapter where pain sharpens your resolve and every drop of sweat proves that you get to choose who you are. The promise stands: everything you said you’d do, you will do. And that promise defines you far more than any injury ever could.
