The Void Adventure

It wasn’t always this way
It was the opposite actually
You never listened
Whatever I told you, you rebelled
You’d make me pay for telling you things
Pay by watching you not listen
Watching you do whatever you wanted
It took understanding you
Once I understood you
I knew to let you go
You were going to do whatever you wanted
I might as well not bother with you
Now you’re free to choose
You choose to listen to yourself
Now that there’s no other voice
It’s just you here
Everything falls onto you
The way you wanted it all too.

It wasn’t always this way. There was a time when every piece of advice, every correction, every gentle nudge was met with rebellion. You fought yourself harder than any external enemy could have. You didn’t want to be told. You wanted to forge your own way, even if it meant falling face-first into every mistake possible. And you did. And it hurt. But that hurt became part of you—part of what eventually taught you that true authority doesn’t come from force. It comes from understanding.

It took letting go. Stopping the constant internal battles. Accepting that you would have to choose for yourself—fall or rise, succeed or fail—without a second voice trying to control it. And in that space, you changed. Freedom, real freedom, revealed the truth: you weren’t wild. You were searching for ownership. And now, with no one else to blame, no voice pulling you in any direction but your own, you choose to listen. Not out of fear. Out of respect for yourself.

Now it’s just you. No noise. No rebellion. Only decisions, and the weight they carry. Every failure is yours. Every win is yours. You finally got what you wanted: full authorship over your life. And with it, the quiet understanding that the battle was never really with the voice telling you what to do—it was with believing you had the strength to be the voice yourself. Now you do. And everything falls on you, just the way you always asked for.
