Hey hey hey, don’t let that mind go there. Don’t let it dictate where it wants to go. You have to lead it or else it will take you on whatever road it tells you to go down and that’ll be that. If you say you know where you want to go then get there. Take yourself there. Don’t trip and if you do, don’t stay down. Get up and get moving towards it again. If the arms give out here then leave it and get to running. It might not be a perfect day and the mind may not be all there right now, but whatever is there use it. Whatever you have use it to get it done again. Choose, don’t let it choose for you.
You know, the mind is a tricky thing. It wants to protect you. It wants to avoid discomfort, pain, and struggle, but that’s not how you grow. If you let it choose for you, it’ll pick the easy road every time, but nothing worth having comes from the easy road. You have to remind yourself that the discomfort you feel right now is temporary, but the results of pushing through? That’s lasting.
When you’re tired, that’s when the excuses start creeping in, and that’s when you have to be the strongest. Your mind is going to come up with all sorts of reasons to stop, to wait, to do it later. You can’t let that voice win. You have to drown it out with action. You have to tell yourself that you’re stronger than that voice, that you’re capable of more than your mind lets on.
There’s a lot to be said about just showing up. Some days, it’s not about crushing your goals. It’s about getting up and putting one foot in front of the other. Just doing something—anything—is better than doing nothing. The day will pass, the time will go, and you’ll either look back and say, “I did what I could,” or you’ll regret letting another day slip by.
Remember this: perfection is not the goal. Consistency is. It’s okay if today isn’t your best, as long as you keep going. You are building something bigger than today. So even if it feels like a loss right now, it’s just another step forward. Just don’t stop walking.
The small actions you take today, no matter how insignificant they feel, are leading you to something bigger. It’s a matter of trust—trusting that every effort, no matter how small, brings you closer to where you want to be.
