The Void Adventure

This is a thought I had before entering the gym to train for the day. It is a practice I do each day before I train to be able to look back and see how my mentality morphs and changes through the monotony of never ending training…

“Nobody cares. Tired, hurt, time crunched. No one cares. When they look back they will simply see that you did the work, they won’t see what it took to do that work. Day in and day out, it doesn’t stop. It feels good though doesn’t it, knowing all the feelings you felt today… and know that you still did your training. To know that you are capable of doing what you don’t want to do in order to get what you always wanted. With this attitude, you can win…
Would you look at that, look who’s back in the gym. Now you remember why you started. To go beyond what you thought you were capable of. The simple daily workout was enough to kill you. it took everything you had to get through it. Yet only hours later you arrive again to the gym. On your own accord, for your own sake. Feel what drags you, embrace the feeling. If it’s ego then so be it, better to hitch a ride with your ego than to waste your life thinking and sitting.”

In the solitary confines of the gym, a simple yet profound truth resonates: nobody cares. Not about the fatigue that weighs your limbs, not about the pain that whispers for you to quit, nor about the relentless ticking of the clock when time seems to be running out. When history looks back, it will only see the outcomes; it won’t feel the sweat and the sacrifice that carved them into existence.

This realization might sound harsh, but within it lies an empowering freedom. It means that the arena in which you fight your daily battles is yours and yours alone. The feelings of tiredness, hurt, or time pressure are yours to conquer, not to showcase. “When they look back, they will simply see that you did the work, they won’t see what it took to do that work.” This isn’t a call for sympathy, but a call to action—a recognition that in the end, the effort is personal and the satisfaction doubly so.

Day in and day out, the cycle doesn’t stop. It’s relentless. Yet, there is a profound satisfaction in knowing that despite the hardships faced today, you pushed through. “It feels good though doesn’t it, knowing all the feelings you felt today… and know that you still did your training”. This is about proving to yourself, more than to anyone else, that you are capable of doing what you don’t want to do in order to achieve what you’ve always wanted.

With this attitude, victory is not just a possibility, but an inevitability. It’s not about the external validation, the accolades, or the applause—it’s about meeting the person you were destined to become. “Would you look at that, look who’s back in the gym. Now you remember why you started. To go beyond what you thought you were capable of.” The simple daily workout that once felt like it might kill you has become a testament to your resilience and strength.

So, embrace whatever it is that drives you. “If it’s ego then so be it, better to hitch a ride with your ego than to waste your life thinking and sitting.” It’s better to channel that energy into something transformative than to let it dissolve into the ether of inaction.

Remember, no one else needs to care about your journey for it to be valid or worthwhile. Your battles, your victories, your strength—are your own. They are what make you indomitable in a world that often seems indifferent. Walk past any feelings that do not serve you, leave them behind, and carve your path forward. Because in the end, the only person you truly need to prove anything to is yourself.
