The Void Adventure

Looked into the future today. Wanted to see where I was. I could see it, vaguely but I could see it. There was a rough map to get to him. Things I know that if I did them, they would inch me closer to him. Then I saw what he did. How he lived. He was not stopping at all. In fact, he was moving faster than ever. The demands for his day were as chaotic as ever and he did not care in the slightest. He was happy to be doing everything that he did. He understood the road it took to get there and he would not let anything take away from his appreciation of where he now was. That was it. That was enough to get me going though. I got a rough outline of where he’s at, it’s now my job to go and find him.

It wasn’t a clear vision, but it was enough. A silhouette of who I’m becoming, outlined in effort and discipline. I saw the pace he moved at—faster than I’ve ever gone. But it wasn’t panic. It was purpose. He wasn’t surviving the chaos, he was thriving in it. That told me everything. This life I’m working toward isn’t about ease, it’s about capacity. And I’m building that capacity right now—through every uncomfortable step.

What struck me most wasn’t how much he could handle, but how much he enjoyed handling it. Like every task was a trophy. Every demand, a reminder of the journey. That kind of appreciation doesn’t come from luck—it comes from memory. He remembers the struggle. He remembers what it took to get there. And because of that, he doesn’t take a single moment for granted. That’s how I know he’s me. That’s how I know I can get there.

So now I walk with a map—not drawn in ink, but etched in action. The road is made from the very things I keep putting off. The daily disciplines. The things I know I should be doing. Each one gets me closer. And the more I move toward him, the more vivid he becomes. The more undeniable he becomes. I just have to keep going until the silhouette turns into a mirror.
