The Void Adventure

You can’t hear me unless you learn how to sit in the silence.
The echoing silence that you, and many others, fight so hard to cancel out. You pull out your phone and scroll until you forgot what it was you were avoiding thinking about in the first place.
Just think it.

Be ok with what comes to your mind, sit with it and listen to it. Don’t let it just become some noise.
It’s uncomfortable to sit in, I know. Regardless I need you in there. In there is where you can hear me in the day. Or else saddle up for yet another day within the loop.
Trust me, the loop is worse than the silence.

When you hear nothing, it’s as if you are holding onto your breath. Then, at the first drop of a pen, of a sound, you inhale. Noise again.
Filling in the space that silence overtook.
God forbid you have to fill in the empty spaces of sound with your own personal thoughts and ideas.

You can do it. That thing you’re thinking about. How daunting of a task it is. Something as simple as doing what you need to do. It’s only daunting because you’re uncomfortable in the silence.
You don’t like how it feels to sit and work on something that you know without a doubt, there will be things you don’t know how to do. Things that you’ll have to figure out right then and there.
In truth that’s all you’re afraid of.

Well right now, you’re being denied access to the life you believe you deserve.
Denied by your inability to sit with silence.
That alone is blocking everything you’re so close to.
That close and to think you might not make it. You might not be able to take advantage of the place you’ll be in. If you can’t hack it and sit alone and think.
To act and think.
To allow silence in your life and put down the phone.

Don’t act like you don’t know how to either, Don’t give me that crap because me and you both know that isn’t true.
The way you train, how you write, they are both based on the principle you designed for yourself.
You allow yourself to think and act.
When you train, you don’t run away from the feeling of discomfort or pain. You feel it out and wait it out, hoping that if you hold out long enough your brain will think of a “why” and that “why” will take away the pain.
When you write you don’t second guess your thoughts when it feeds you words to write. You honor it by acting right away to write them. When you don’t have them yet you sit and patiently wait in silence for a word to type…
You know how.

Everything will change by default when you manage to befriend silence.
Allow yourself to be bored.
Allow yourself to act as you think.
You don’t have to force any change either, it’ll take care of itself.
All you have to do is be here, right here and now.
Don’t try and escape into the realm of limbo.
Go after the win, stalk the situation you’re in. Think.
