Not quite the best version of me yet
I went a little too far
I need to sway back into what I know.
Don’t make it more difficult then it needs to be
Just continue making small changes
Daily changes that get you back
Back to who you know you can be.
You feel better when you’re there
Better when you look the way you could look.
It’s funny you feel this way
A slight deviation from what you know
From what you know you can be
Is all that you needed to alert you
To let you know that you went off the tracks.
Your sensors are strong
It’s fine really just correct the course now.
You only have to do it for today
It’s easy when you just focus on today.
Sometimes, we find ourselves drifting away from the path that aligns with our best selves. It’s not always a drastic detour, but even the smallest deviations can trigger a sense of unease. That discomfort isn’t a failure; it’s a signal, a reminder that you’re capable of more. It’s your inner compass urging you to realign, to steer back toward the version of yourself that you know is within reach.
When you recognize that you’ve strayed, the key is not to panic or criticize yourself harshly. Instead, take it as an opportunity to make small, intentional adjustments. These daily changes don’t have to be monumental. In fact, it’s the consistency of small, manageable steps that leads to lasting transformation. By focusing on just today, on what you can do in this moment to get back on track, you simplify the process. You remove the overwhelming pressure of thinking too far ahead or dwelling on past missteps.
It’s easy to forget how good it feels to be in sync with your goals, to look and feel like the best version of yourself. When you’re off course, that feeling can seem distant, but it’s never out of reach. The fact that you notice the deviation so quickly is a testament to your growth. It shows that you’ve built a strong foundation, and now your mind and body are finely tuned to recognize when something is off. This awareness is a powerful tool—it means you can course-correct with confidence, knowing that you have the ability to get back to where you need to be.
Remember, the journey to becoming your best self isn’t about perfection. It’s about persistence. It’s about understanding that detours will happen, but they don’t define you. What defines you is your response to them, your ability to adjust and move forward with renewed focus. Each day offers a new chance to make better choices, to align your actions with your intentions. When you concentrate on today—just today—you remove the burden of the past and the anxiety of the future. You give yourself the gift of being present, of making decisions that benefit you in the here and now.
In the end, it’s the accumulation of these daily efforts that will lead you back to the version of yourself you aspire to be. So don’t worry if you’ve strayed. What matters is that you’re aware and that you’re taking steps to correct your course. Keep moving forward, one day at a time, and you’ll find yourself right where you need to be—back on track, in tune with your goals, and proud of the progress you’ve made.
