The Void Adventure

You know the deal, I don’t want to be up right now. I slept late and I’m up early. All these reps to go though, I rather they be done before the sun is up again. When I manage to do so the rest of the day seems lighter to me. When I don’t manage the day is as heavy as it gets. So I’m here again now getting the reps in until I can say I have nothing left. Until there are no reps left. I’m so tired today that I didn’t even have the energy to complain about it. I just woke up and started doing some push ups. Now here I am nearing the start of the run, knocking down as much pull ups as I can to shorten what I have to do after the run. Too tired to complain. Just going to keep going.

You’re in that zone where it’s not even about motivation anymore. It’s pure autopilot. You’ve trained yourself well enough to know that no matter how you feel, the work has to be done. You don’t question it, you don’t analyze it, you just act. It’s funny how sometimes the best performances come when you’re too tired to think, too worn out to complain. That’s where you are now. The body knows what to do, and the mind is silent for once.

This is the kind of tired that’s productive, where you shut down the overthinking and just move. Each push-up, each pull-up, each step you take brings you closer to that moment of relief when you know the hardest part of the day is already behind you. You’ve been here before, and you know what comes next. The pain dulls, the body gets warmer, and the discomfort turns into something you can manage. It’s never easy, but it becomes familiar.

So now, as you lace up for that run, you’re not just fighting fatigue—you’re leaning into it. You’ve accepted that this is part of the process, part of the grind. The sun hasn’t even risen yet, and you’ve already made progress. There’s something comforting about that, knowing that you’ve beaten the hardest obstacle: starting. Everything after this is just a continuation, a flow you can keep up with. You’re in control because you’ve taken action before the day even had a chance to push back.

And that’s what separates you from everyone else—the ability to move forward without hesitation, without waiting for the perfect moment or the right feeling. By the time others are waking up and getting their day started, you’ll have already conquered yours.
