There are many ways to go about this. The best way is the way you already know. It’s the way of being entirely present in whatever you’re doing. No matter what you do, you’ll always have more to do. You’ll always think about what comes next, how long it will take for you to complete it. Never ends and it gets exhausting to keep up. That’s why you burn out so many times over. You keep trying to hold onto the next thing. You never get a grip on the thing you’re doing right here and now. Slowly you’re learning it though. You’re starting to see that there are many ways to see what you see. You can do all the things you have to get done and still find the way to enjoy what you’re doing. To live presently and not watch as your time slip away. To be grateful for the time you do have now.
And the more you embrace that, the lighter everything starts to feel. The weight of everything undone no longer drags at your thoughts, and the urgency to rush ahead fades. Instead, you settle into what’s in front of you, giving it your full attention, allowing yourself to experience it fully rather than just pushing through it to get to the next task.
There’s something freeing about that—about realizing that productivity doesn’t have to come at the cost of presence. That you can still move forward, still achieve, but without the constant pressure of needing to be somewhere else, someone else, always reaching, always chasing. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply be here, now, fully engaged in the moment you’re in.
Because this moment is the only one that truly belongs to you. The past is already gone, the future is uncertain, but right now—you can shape it, live it, and make the most of it. And maybe, just maybe, that’s how you stop feeling like time is slipping away. By finally deciding to live in it.
