Itching today. Itching at the thought of all the things I have to do today. Though I don’t actually have to do them. It’s something I want to do. I want to get ahead. I want to keep myself. So I have to train and write. I have to finish this personal statement for a better job, for more money, for a better life. These are all things I want. Not need. So don’t stress about what you have to do. Do them with a smile on your face because it’s what you want to do. Regardless of whether or not you want to do that specific thing you stress about, it’s the specific thing being done that leads to that bigger thing that you want. You can’t be picky about it, you said you’d do whatever it takes. Well this is whatever.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of tasks on my to-do list. But when I take a step back, I realize that these aren’t obligations—they’re steps toward the life I want. Training, writing, and completing my personal statement for a better job are all things I choose to do. They’re not just tasks; they’re investments in my future.
I need to remember that these actions are aligned with my desires, not imposed by necessity. Instead of stressing about each task, I should approach them with a positive mindset. After all, every effort I make today is a step closer to achieving my bigger goals. The discomfort and challenges are part of the process, and embracing them with a smile makes the journey more fulfilling.
It’s crucial to stay focused on the bigger picture. Even if a specific task isn’t enjoyable, it’s a vital component of the broader plan. I’ve committed to doing whatever it takes to succeed, and that means accepting the less pleasant tasks as necessary steps toward my ultimate objectives. So, I’ll tackle today’s tasks with enthusiasm, knowing they are all part of the path to the life I envision.
